and most successful use celebrities to endorse their product to the public like Keira Knightly endorses a fragrance from Chanel.

Guccio Gucci

Guccio Gucci created the famous Gucci fashion label. He was a very innovative and fashionable person espicially coming up with the bamboo idea. That was a brilliant idea to use his surroundings to create a completely new design. Guccio was sucessful because he found out what he could do to become sucessful and came up with a fashion label for both genders. He would've done more great designs if he were still around but the people who took over Gucci for him continue to make Gucci more famous and alot of celebrities wear Gucci.

Today, Gucci is one of the most famous fashion labels in the world. 1990's

Tom Ford becomes the creative director of Gucci in 1994 while Domenico De Sole is appointed CEO in 1995. Gucci is named as the "European Company of the year 1998" by the European Buisness press federation. Gucci creates an Alliance with Pinault-Printemps-Redoute and turns it's slf from a single brand company into a multibrand group.

1980's

Gucci becomes a public limited company, and the buisness is passed down to Rodolfo's son, Maurizio Gucci, who holds 50% of Gucci's shares. Domenico De Sole become president of Gucci America in 1984.

1970's

Aldo Gucci is now in charge of his father's fashion label: Gucci and continues to make Gucci a famous label around the world. Aldo targets the far east and opens new stores in Tokyo and Hong Kong. Their designs become more professional as they have enough money to pay skilled craftsman and order supplies of materials. Aldo also re-creates some of his father's classic and stylish designs with new shapes and colours. New collections are also now avaliable.

1960's



The fashion label Gucci creats new products that are endorsed by famous stars during that time such as Peter Sellers, Grace Kelly, Samuel Beckett, Liz Taylor and Jackie Kennedy who at that time carried the Gucci shoulder bag, known as "Jacki O" today.


It was also during the mid 1960's that the famous interlocking "G" icon was developed.

1950's

Another famous trend Guccio created was the Green-red-green web which was derived from saddle-girth. During this year, Gucci also had stores opening in New York and Mulan, both very famous locations, best well known for fashion.


Sadly Guccio Gucci died in 1953 leaving the buisness to his 4 sons, Aldo, Vasco, Ugo and Rodolfo.


1940's


After Gucci was faced with a shortage of materials during the difficult years, Guccio improvised by using the materials around him and created the Bamboo bag! These bags became a huge hit in the 1930's and are still a big hit today. The bamboo bag was one of the first of Gucci's best creations.

1930's

By the 1930's Gucci had attracted sophisticated clients from all over the world who came to buy his equestrian inspired collection of bags, belts, trunks, gloves and shoes. Gucci became an
iconic fashion designer and a symbol
of the fashion house.

Guccio Gucci -1920's

Guccio Gucci is the creator of the famous fashion label: Gucci Born in 1881, Guccio Gucci was born in Florence, Italy. It all began in 1921 when he opened up a small leather goods company and a small luggage store in the small town of florence were he grew up. After spending a few years in working for London's Savoy Hotel, he had gained new skills about the refined aesthetic of English nobility and used them to style his own creations through exclusive leather goods that were created by the professional craftsmanship of Tuscan artists.
